It has a very light texture with fast absorption into the skin. Ideal for mixing with other heavier carrier oils or blends (10-50%) to lighten skin feel and aid quicker absorption. Produces an even lighter effect when mixed 50/50 with iso-Propyl Myristate (IPM). Can be used as a solvent in perfumery compounds where its sweet natural coconut oilyness can be utilised as a blender in sweet and fruity fragrances but due to poor solubility with ethanol, water, resins, citrus oils (terpenes), powders and crystals make sure to test well first. Use from 4 parts Polysorbate 20 to, 1 part oil or compound. Mix the Polysorbate with the oil or perfume compound well then add the water slowly, stirring all the time. Note: Using some ethanol (20-30%) with the water will help the clarity of the end product and you may be able to reduce the amount of solubilizer necessary. As with all solubilisers the exact amount required for a completely clear solution depends on each compounds own ingredients and some materials like citrus oils and resins are almost impossible to get completely clear. A high grade very efficient solubilizer blend. It has a bland surfactant-like odour with a faint solvent note. Use from 1 part Extra Clear to 1 part oil/compound. Mix it with the oil or perfume compound well then add the water, in the beginning drop by drop, stirring it into a paste. As soon as the paste starts to become runny add the rest of the water quickly stirring rapidly, stirring all the time. Note: Using a little ethanol (10-20%) with the water may help the clarity of the end product and reduce the amount of solubiliser necessary. It has a viscous texture with slow absorption into the skin. Ideal for mixing with blends (0.5-1%) to increase richness and aid prolonged massage without constant re-application. Using at 20% in a very light oil base is useful preventing stretch marks but please test a small area first to make sure you do not have a reaction. Using the Acetate of Vitamin E means that it is not an anti-oxidant for your products but the skin can utilise it and release the Vitamin E for skin moisturising, strengthening, elasticity, cell regeneration and rejuvenation. Pure Vitamin E (dark brown colour) may be far more irritating to the skin than this acetate form. Not really recommended as a solvent in perfumery compounds due to poor solubility of resins, citrus oils (terpenes), powders and crystals. It has no anti-oxidant properties for essential oils or perfume compounds. Show less
