The odour and uses of Unisex Concentrate
Using Alpha-Androstenol 1000 ppm Concentrate
We recommended to using Androstenol 1000 ppm in fragrance compounds at a maximum of 0.01 to 0.1% (w/w) 0.1 to 1 gram per Kg or Litre of perfume compound. This will ensure that the active Androstenol content does not exceed 1 ppm 1 part-per-million which has been found to be the upper limit at which the pheromones are esthetically acceptable.
The materials used are high purity reconstructions using synthetic sources and no human or animal extracts were used in their production.
Androstenol is biosynthesized in the testes, the adrenal glands and the ovaries in humans. In addition, androstenol may be synthesized in the human nasal mucosa from androstenone, and likely also from androstadienol and androstadienone in this area.
Present in human urine, and it is also present in the blood plasma and saliva of humans and pigs as well as in the axillary sweat of humans.
Due to its ability to cross the blood-brain-barrier, androstenols are likely present in the central nervous system as well. In animals, androstenols have been found to produce anxiolytic-like, antidepressant-like, and anticonvulsant effects. They also been found to modify the behavioral and social responses of humans.

Important Notes:
End application data applies to experiments carried out by the authors or extrapolated from those experiments using computer algorithms. As application product formulations vary widely this information is only a general guide.
Full testing by both perfumers- flavorists and end users is the only proven method to ensuring a perfume or flavours safety- strength- suitability- stability and success.
Legislation and regulations vary widely and change with time so it is your duty to check this.
